THE COMMEMORATIVE MEDAL OF THE JAPANESE VICTORY OVER SINGAPORE AND THEIR LIBERATION OF GREATER EAST ASIA
The Germans produced a porcelain medal to commemorate the Japanese victory. It is 5cm. in diameter and 0.5cm. thick.
The obverse has an embossed circumscription in German -" EINNAHME VON SINGAPORE . 11 FEBRUAR 1942" [(The) Capture of Singapore . 11 February 1942], with a circular emblem, featuring the left profile of a lion standing beneath a coconut tree, spanning an area of 2.5cm. in diameter.
On its reverse, the circumscription "GROSS- OSTASIEN VON FREMDHERRSCHAFT BEFREIT" (Greater East Asia Freed of Foreign Dominion), is symbolized by a wreath encircling a Japanese battle ensing.
